General Comment:
Aeromexico's US-Mexico service originates in Brownsville, Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City (JFK), Ontario CA, Orlando, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Antonio and San Francisco. Montreal is currently the only Canadian gateway.
Cities in Mexico with direct Aeromexico service include Cancun, Durango, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Leon (Bajio Airport), Mexico City, Monterrey, and others.
Latin American destinations include Buenos Aires, Bogota, Havana, Lima, Panama, San Jose Costa Rica, Santiago de Chile and Sao Paulo.
European destinations include Barcelona, Madrid and Paris.

General Comment:
Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Air Canada is Canada's premiere airline. Mexico destinations include Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Cancun and Cozumel. Canadian gateways include Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.

General Comment:
Following its western tradition, Alaska's non-stop Mexico service originates from San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and Phoenix. Mexico destinations currently served include Cancun, Guadalajara, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Manzanillo/Costa Alegre, and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. One stop service is offered from Seattle, Portland and Vancouver, BC to various cities in Mexico with daily connections from over 70 cities throughout the West.


American

General Comment:
American Airlines was one of the first US airlines to transport passengers and cargo to Mexico. American US-Mexico routes use the Dallas-Fort Worth and Miami gateways and serve Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Cancun, Acapulco, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and Leon. Through its regional affiliate, American Eagle, American also serves Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Torreon and San Luis Potosi. In April 2008, American will commence service to Tampico. Seasonal service includes departures from Chicago, St. Louis, Boston and New York gateways and Cozumel destinations.


Aviacsa

General Comment:
1/31/11 - Aviacsa Airlines was grounded by the Mexican Government in July 2009 due to non-payment of some $22 million usd owed in airspace fees. It is rumored they will reinstate operations on February 14, 2011.

Mexico City based airline with convenient schedules to popular cities throughout Mexico. Presently - Spring 2008 - Las Vegas is the only U.S. gateway.

Continental

General Comment:
Continental's routes into Mexico originate in its Houston, TX and Newark, NJ hubs. In May 2004, daily service to Mexico City was added from San Antonio and McAllen, Texas.

Continental offers service to 28 cities in Mexico - more than any other US airline. Cities added since December 2003 include Manzanillo, Puebla, Oaxaca, Ciudad del Carmen, Monclova and Toluca.

Subject to Government approval, service from Houston to Durango will commence on July 1, 2004.

Delta

General Comment:
Delta's Mexico experience began with its purchase of Western Airlines in the early 1980s. U.S. gateways include Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, Salt Lake City and Atlanta.


Frontier Airlines

General Comment:
Based in Denver, Colorado, Frontier Airlines has daily service from Denver to Cancun, Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Frontier has filed an application to serve non-stop between Denver and Cozumel. If approved, service will commence November 19, 2005. An additional application has been filed for service from Salt Lake City and Kansas City to Puerto Vallarta, also due to commence in November 2005.


Mexicana

General Comment:
1/25/11 - Mexicana Airlines filed for Bankruptcy protection in both the US and Mexico in August 2010 and suspended ticket sales and flight operations. There have been sporadic reports of ticket sales and operations renewals. The latest one has them renewing in March 2011. .

Mexicana's gateways in the US include Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Chicago, San Antonio, New York (JFK), Miami, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Fresno, CA, Dallas-Fort Worth, Orlando and Denver. Canadian gateways include Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Latin American gateways include Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Guatemala, San Jose Costa Rica, Panama City, San Salvador, Sao Paolo and Havana. Some routes are operated under code-share agreements with other airlines.

European gateways include Madrid and London.

Destinations in Mexico with direct service from the US include Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Morelia, Leon (Bajio Airport), Zacatecas, Cancun, Mazatlan and Los Cabos. Mexicana was the first international carrier to serve Los Angeles when flights were inaugurated in the 1930's.

Mexicana holds one of the best safety and on-time performance records among international carriers and has received prestigious travel industry awards for its customer service.

United

General Comment:
Cities in Mexico served by United Airlines include Cancun, Cozumel, Mexico City, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos.

US gateways include Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington-Dulles to one or all of the destinations. Service is seasonal to some Mexico destinations. Connecting service available from Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Raleigh-Durham and other cities throughout the country.

USAir

General Comment:
USAir serves cities in Mexico from its hubs in Charlotte, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Las Vegas connecting to an extensive secondary regional city route system in the US. Cities in Mexico include Los Cabos, Hermosillo, Guaymas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Manzanillo, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, Mexico City, Cancun and Cozumel.
