Description Housed in the Ex-Convento del Carmen Descalzo - a splendid Colonial building first built in the late 16th Century - amid offices, the Museo de la Mascara contains a collection of masks from all over Mexico with particular emphasis on the states of Michoacan and Guerrero.

Description First school to open its doors to indigenous, Colonial and Mestizo students as a result of the merger in 1580 between Vasco de Quiroga's Colegio San Nicolas in Patzcuaro and the Colegio San Miguel already existing in Morelia. Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla taught and served as Rector prior to charting the way for Mexico's Independence. Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon was one of his students.
